Southampton Hospital Awards Scholarships to Local Seniors

Southampton, NY – Each year since 1976, Southampton Hospital’s Board of Directors awards scholarships, ranging from $2,500 to $1,500, to local graduating high school seniors who are children of Hospital employees. The Hospital’s Vice President of Human Resources, Paul Davin, presided over the presentation in Parrish Memorial Hall on May 29.

The first scholarship established was the Robert Holmes Scholarship commemorating Mr. Holmes’ 39 years of service as Assistant Administrator of the Hospital. Margretta Anderson, daughter of Robert and Charlotte Holmes and resident of Westhampton Beach, presented the award.  The 2007 Holmes Scholarship was presented to Jessica Bennett, the daughter of Danuta Bennett of Southampton. Mrs. Bennett is an RN in the recovery room.  Jessica plans to study music education at Ithaca College.
